Getting Ready To Nest

If you haven't already, now is the time to make sure your birdhouses are ready for the season. Check and repair any birdhouses that may have been damaged over the winter. It is a good idea to replace any that may be beyond repair

New Show Schedule for 2013

We are compiling our show schedule for this year and have posted shows we will definitely be attending. Natural Food Sources

Have you ever thought of offering natural food sources to the birds that frequent your yard? Planing purple coneflowers will attract the American Goldfinch. Planting sunflowers will attract Chickadees. Leave out left over peanuts and watch the blue jays gobble them up.

Not only is this something birds can enjoy, but you do not have to spend a lot of money to offer something so natural and delicious.

Wilton Grange Agricultural Fair 100th Year

We were at the Wilton Grange Agricultural Fair this past Sunday. They were celebrating their 100th year. This fair is always a pleasure to attend. There are crafts for everyone to enjoy, chickens, rabbits and goats winning various first, second and third place prizes, and inside the grange an array of exhibits from photography, sculpting animals from vegetables, baked goods, knitted items, and flower arranging that are judged. They even have a rubber duck race at the end with wonderful prizes for first through seventh place. Country bands and signing are another part of the entertainment. You can't go wrong visiting this fair, it surely is a "Family Affair" atmosphere that anyone would enjoy.

Farmer's Market Coventry CT

On Sunday, August 12th, we participated in the Coventry Farmer's Market as a guest vendor. This is a wonderful market full of all sorts of goodies. We were selling our birdhouses which were enjoyed by many. There were also plenty of vegetables, flowers, and people enjoying themselves. This market also has plenty of food and beverages to choose from with a family affair atmosphere and music.  Check out some of the pictures we took.

The market is open sundays through October from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Craft Shows

We just participated in the Fine Arts Craft Show on the Milford Green (CT) and would like to thank them for their advertisement in the New Haven Register Weekend of Friday July 6, 2012 edition. They featured a picture of our birdhouse display that many people enjoyed and the response was tremendous. The article also included the hours, types of ware to be enjoyed at the show along with the bands who would be entertaining. We heard so many say they decided to come to the craft show based on the article.
